Unfortunately I've had my own health concerns over the last year and a half. Xmas 2020 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Within a couple of weeks I had started chemo and by summer I'd had surgery and started radiotherapy. It was a strange experience, I expected to be upset about it but through out I felt a calm detachment from it all. I suppose my life was already on hold so it had little effect on my getting out and about. I also had an amazing amount of support, firstly my partner Robert who was there to look after me at every step, my parents who were shuttling me backward and forward to the hospital. And an amazing selection of doctors & nurses who explained every step, answered all questions and were at the other end of a phone if ever I needed them - it is in honour of them that I chose our current charity Nottingham Breast Cancer Research Centre.
I am now clear of Cancer and awaiting the first of my annual check ups. I kept on sewing over lockdown so now have a lovely selection of animals waiting to be photographed and added to the Facebook page. I'm going to be adding new sections too. starting with recycled silver of which I have a couple of pieces ready for sale and I'm hoping to finish some recycled wood bits soon as well.
Thank-you for all the money you have helped me raise for some wonderful causes and for many more to come.
