This weekend I will be spending 2 days at the Long Eaton Art Room Festive Craft fair raising money for Macmillan. As much as I hate to admit it, Christmas shopping is upon us. So I have a few new friends I'll be taking with me 'Polar Pete' and his family as well as a selection of Xmas Stockings some with matching bears. As always, all my profits go to charity. I will also have Macmillan pins and Guardian Angels / Hope Faeries. If you want to bring along any denim donations or old charity pins for recycling I'd be happy to accept them. So why not pop along and say hi - Long Eaton Art Room 29-31 Lime Grove, LONG EATON, NG10 4LD (click address for map)

The time has come the Walrus said, to talk of many things Of jeans and jackets and denim skirts, And why we're turning green....... OK, not my best I know but you get the point. At Halloween we changed our charity to Macmillan and said farewell to Jeans for Genes for another year. A massive thankyou to everyone who helped us raise another £65.06 for them. Macmillan are an amazing group of people who help those diagnosed with cancer as well as support for their families. They help with advice on money worries all the way way through to helping with arrangements and care so they can spend their final days at home with families. And it doesn't stop there, they're their for the families afterwards too, to help them cope.
I've had a few friends who have required their help and cannot speak highly enough of the support they gave, so please help me show some support by raising money for them so they can help many more families. I have 3 craft fairs coming up and will be selling Macmillan pins and hope angels as well as the denim, so check out my events page on Facebook and pop along and say hi. Halloween is nearly upon us and we will be changing our charity then to Macmillan.
There is still time to help Jeans for Genes so get in touch if you want to adopt a bear or rabbit. Also keep an eye on our events page on facebook - we may be in your area soon so pop along and say hello You raised an amazing £258As sorry as I am to finish our support for a charity in order to help another , I am proud to say we raised a total of £258 for Sal's Thank-you fund. But you don't have to stop there - The Go fund me page is still active if you want to show your support for a variety of charities that helped Sal spend her final days at home with her family.
For September (At least) we will be supporting Jeans for Genes. They help disorder-specific charities and patient groups to deliver inspiring projects and support services for children affected by a genetic disorder in the UK. The monies raised provide grants for day-to-day support, equipment, nursing and patient support services, and events which bring together affected children and their families. So please pop along to the shop to help us raise some money for this worthy cause Earlier this year we held a stall at The Greyhound in Beeston for Jeans for Genes research - we had an amazing response. A number of bears were adopted that night and we raised over £100 for the charity. We have since decided to continue working with the Jeans for Genes charity - donating upto £5 from the sale of every bear. With new designs being added in the form of our Raggedy Rabbit as well as christmas stockings and pillow covers there is something for everyone.
Welcome to Jean-Cycled. I try and find new ways to reuse your old Denim. My web Page / Blog eventually went live yesterday which being Earth Day I found quite fitting as this is all about recycling.
On this blog I will try and keep you up to date with new projects and ideas as well as hopefully any craft fairs I will be attending. I really hope you like what I do and help me support recycling for gifts. |
Welcome to Jean-CycledKeep up to date with new items I am making or where you can buy or order your Jean-Cycled Treasure. Archives
